It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since we moved to Bangkok! Wow, how time flies!! This year has certainly been an adventure, and one I think our entire family is enjoying! :)
The end of February and the first part of March - except for the kids and Chris getting sick - were nice! Finally, some normalcy!! Even though I've had lots of culture shock days (I'm not sure what's been going on with me), it's been great just living life.
Here are some cute random pictures of Siena just hanging out with Max's Go Diego shades on, asleep in her crib after falling asleep reading, and trying on new goggles that Gammy sent (which she loves!).
Max enjoyed playdates with his buddies Gavin (who we met at Central World and went to KiddyLand, TK Park and had lunch) and Josiah (who came over to our house). We also had a playdate at my friend Elley's house. Her son Gabe is 6 and daughter Evie is Max's age. Siena came along and enjoyed playing with Gabe's boxing glove...and of course she loved the food!
I also bought this cool handmade grasshopper. I have no idea what to do with it, so it's in a plant in the living room. For some reason, I'm just attracted to all these handmade things the elderly make and sell on the streets of Bangkok! The way I look at it is that I'm supporting a good cause and I get some really neat things! :)
Chris and I also went to a really cool Moroccan restaurant for our Friday date night. We had to walk a treacherous route to get there - some of the sois in Bangkok are horrible and have no sidewalks at all and barely any room to walk along the road. I'm surprised we made it! :) The meal was awesome and we felt like we were back in Morocco!
Moms that attend othe Parent and Toddler group for a Shrove Tuesday (okay it was on Thursday) pancake lunch! It was lots of fun!! Our Monday night small group did a similar and much larger event too. It was loads of fun and the pancakes were yummy!! :)
The only bad thing was that my car was in the shop for a week, and I hate taking taxis. Don't get me wrong, taxis are great. However, they are not convenient when you have a 1 1/2 year old who wants to sit up front with the driver and there's no way to restrain her. Well, I guess I could restrain her in my arms, but then you have a little girl fighting terribly to be released. Add a 3 1/2 year old to the mix and it can be a stressful ride! Actually, Max is really good in taxis now...he's convinced a policeman is going to take him to jail if he acts up in any way. When we first arrived in Bangkok, I kept telling Max that the sign in the car stated the law - that little boys (and now girls) must sit on their bottoms or the policeman would come. He's taken this to mean he's going to jail. I now try to explain that I'll get a ticket (so he's not afraid of policeman!).
That's it for now. Next post (hopefully in the next day or so) will be of all the fun we had during my mom's visit!!! :)

What we are doing?
There's never a dull moment in our lives. After traveling the world in 2006, we came back to Raleigh to settle down. It didn't take long to get the travel bug again and in 2009, Chris accepted an offer to be a Facility Manager for the US State Department. We've added Max and Siena to the family and the four of us are now living in Bangkok! Next stop in 2012...Libreville, Gabon in west Africa!
